Research and Innovation Policy

In the emerging knowledge economy, research and innovation are seen to be key drivers of development and competitiveness in the twenty-first century. In particular, as the challenges to Australian industry intensify and rivals in China and other countries continue to develop their capabilities, domestic firms need to become increasingly nimble in upgrading their products and processes. Innovation is critical to this process and government policies can have an important impact in this area.

The directors have undertaken major studies for individual companies as well as for public sector agencies such as the Australian Research Council, the Cooperative Research Centres Association, the Department of Education, Science and Training, and the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development.
